Canada is the 2nd largest country in the world (after Russia), but only counts 40 million people... Most of these people live just north of the US-border. The big three cities (Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver) plus the other major cities have close to 75% of the total population. In other words: the country is empty outside the major cities! In Quebec province French is the official language, anywhere else English will do.

Vancouver Island is the largest island on the west coast of the Americas with a comparable size as the country Belgium. Major city is Victoria, capital of British Columbia.
You can explore nature and yourself on the island, where space and no-one's land is widely available. There is a lot of wildlife on land and in the water (orcas).
